FOLK star John Eatock is back behind the bar of a pub brought back to life following an arson attack last year.
Doors have reopened at The Ale House in Henrietta Street, Leigh, almost a year after the fire which destroyed the traditional hostelry.
Licensee John, who sings with the famous "Fivepenny Piece" is delighted that the ambience of the pub has been retained, and promises to give impromptu performances once more.
Though most of the original panelling was wrecked in the blaze, 30 per cent was saved and the other 70 per cent has been replicated in new oak.
John said: "It's great to be back in a completely revamped bar. We'll be open every day with a happy hour between 12 and 4pm!"
The pub will again be limited to live music and entertainment swings into action on Sunday afternoon with all rounder Gerry King.
John said: "We are aiming to cater for people who enjoy a drink in the atmosphere of an old fashioned pub, where they can hear what's going on and have a laugh - and the beer's cheap too!"
