SEWER works in the Tamar area of Leigh has caused several bus services to be re-routed until the repair work is completed in about eight weeks time.
Service 593 journeys operated by First Manchester will be diverted from Hindley Green via Corner Lane, Dangerous Corner, Westleigh Lane and Kirkhall Lane and will not serve Leigh Road, Wigan Road or Twist Lane.
Service 658 journeys will be diverted from Bickershaw via Leigh Road, Corner Lane, Dangerous Corner, Westleigh Lane and Kirkhall Lane and will not serve Wigan Road or Twist Lane.
Service 652 journeys will be diverted from Hindley Green via Corner Lane, Dangerous Corner and Westleigh Lane and will not serve Leigh Road, or Nel Pan Lane.
Wigan Road and the link between Tamar and Leigh will continue to be served by the Jim Stones' 593 journeys which will turn via Tennyson Avenue, Burns Avenue, Nel Pan Lane and Shelley Street. This service will continue to operate every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday daytimes.
GMPTE has arranged, and United Utilities will be funding, an evening and Sunday daytime shuttle bus between Leigh and Tamar. Full details of services are available from Greater Manchester's Public Transport Information Line on 0161-228 7811, between 8am and 8pm seven days a week.
