A MOTHER has appeared in court for failing to make sure her son attended school.
Marie Bulger, of Southbank Road, Bury, appeared before Bury magistrates after her child persistently failed to go to school at Derby High in the town.
The magistrates heard how the youngster attended on only 39 of a possible 98 occasions between last October and January of this year.
Bulger, who pleaded guilty, was given a 12-month conditional discharge with £100 court costs.
