EAST Lancashire's Scout Commissioner has landed the movement's top award for "services of the most exceptional nature" and will travel to a special ceremony at Windsor Castle.
Chris Creelman, from Fence, received the Silver Wolf Award in the Scout Association National St George's Day Awards.
As well as being county commissioner, he is a member of the National Committee of the Council, the Programme and Development sub-committee and Development Grant Board, and helped organise security at a world jamboree of 30,000 scouts in Thailand.
A spokesman for East Lancashire Scouts said: "This is a well-deserved award even though Chris feels he has not done anything special."
Chris and his wife Janet will attend the parade of 2,000 Queen's Scouts at Windsor Castle on April 27, traditionally attended by a member of the Royal Family.
