I AGREE with A Culverhouse (Letters, March 25), Darwen's parks and cemeteries are a disgrace to the town. The unpaid 'friends' are doing a good job, but it is the council's responsibility.
Once again Blackburn comes out tops with: £2.5million to be spent on Corporation Park, hundreds of thousands on Queen's Park's tennis courts, softball courts, a new children's play area, new benches, toilets, etc. Then there is Witton Park and Billinge Wood, which is beautiful and a credit to Blackburn -- apart from the potholed car park at the Preston Old Road entrance, which has been in this state for at least 20 years. Has no-one else noticed?
By the way, there are three times more public toilets in Witton Park than in Darwen's 9 square miles of town.
