PENDLE Council is set to finalise plans for an "e-government" strategy the will see its services delivered electronically.

All councils in England have been set the target of delivering services which can be sent electronically by 2005.

Pendle Council has secured government funding of £200,000 for two years to help meet the target.

A council spokesman said: "It is essential that a strategy and action plan be implemented if we are to meet the ambitious targets set for us by the Government. The programme of projects that deliver the targets will enable us to enhance the level of service we provide and will also enable substantial efficiency improvements."

The council's executive committee will be asked to consider the options for delivering the programme at a meeting next week.
