DRISSA Diallo marked his return from injury with his first league goal for the Clarets to help secure only Burnley's second win in the past 12 games.
Gareth Taylor's 17th goal of the season had given the Clarets the lead at Turf Moor.
He volleyed home from close range in the 29th minute after a good header by Ian Moore found him ten yards out.
At the other end Nik Michopoulos had made a number of good saves especially to deny impressive youngster Danny Spiller and Paul Smith.
Both goals came from long throws from teenager Matty O'Neill and he and fellow youngster Richard Chapllow can be proud of their efforts while Mark Rasmussen and Andrew Waine came on late for their debuts.
Just before half time injured Paul Weller was replaced by Richard Chaplow.
Burnley boss Stan Ternent gave a full debut to teenager Matty O'Neill who replaced injurerd Dimi Papadopoulos in the starting line-up.
The other change saw Drissaq Diallo back for the first time in four games in place of Dean West with Mark McGregor switching to right back.
