A WOMAN lost everything when her rented flat was destroyed by fire
The woman discovered the blaze when she returned to her end terrace first floor flat in Chapel Street, Leigh.
Firefighters spent two hours controlling the fire, which is thought to have been caused by a carelessly discarded cigarette which had smouldered for two hours before flaring up.
The flat and its contents were completely destroyed. No one was in at the time and firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to the adjacent property.
