PREMIER Division champions Accrington Stanley are firmly on course to achieve their double century target as they prepare to face Lancaster City at the Crown Ground tonight (7.45pm).
John Coleman's side notched a stunning 5-1 win at Gainsborough Trinity to leave themselves needing four points from their remaining two games to notch 100 points for the season.
But it was the stunning goal haul, courtesy of a Lutel James hat-trick and strikes from Rory Prendergast and Paul Mullin, at Trinity's Northolme ground that has really fired up Stanley's hunt for the 'double'.
They now need only five goals in their remaining two matches, both at the Crown Ground, to notch up the ton.
Tonight's game promises to be the harder of the two contests.
While the men from the Giant Axe are below halfway, the Dolly Blues will be in good enough heart after registering a 3-2 win at Whitby Town on Saturday.
If Stanley can collect at least a point from tonight's game then they can hopefully finish the season in party style next Saturday when Hyde, bottom of the table and already relegated, are the visitors - though former Reds defender Mark Sertori will not want United to go down without a fight.
Stanley were quickly into their stride in Lincolnshire on Saturday and it was winger Prendergast who handed them the lead with a strike after 28 minutes.
However, the Reds had to be patient for their second and it was only a minute before the interval when James struck.
Trinity replied through Jones on 66 minutes, but Accrington merely put their foot on the gas and cruised to victory in the closing stages.
James notched his second with a 78th minute penalty before strike partner Paul Mullin popped up with his 25th league goal of the season - 31 in total for the campaign - just five minutes from time.
But Stanley weren't finished and in the final minute James bagged his third to take his league tally to 35, giving him a season's tally of 38 in all competitions.
