REGARDING the story (LET, April 9) about the police officer who did not turn up at Burnley Crown Court for the trial of the three men from Blackburn on charges of affray and racially-aggravated destruction of property, why was this officer not suspended straight away?
It would have been a totally different matter if it had been one of the three accused who had not turned up at court on the stated day and time. A warrant would have been issued at once.
PATRICIA WHITE, Honeyhole, Blackburn.
