DARWEN Lions have donated £50 to a Girl Guide who will make the trip of a lifetime this summer.
Kezia Atkins will fly to New Brunswick, Canada, in August, after she was selected from hundreds of Guides throughout the North West to join an international delegation.
Kezia, 14, of Newton Street, has been busy raising the £1,200 needed to take the trip. She said: "I've been working two part-time jobs at the weekend and I've been doing a lot of fundraising."
Peter Leech, Darwen Lions treasurer, said: "It's a pleasure that we can give this money to such a worthy cause. We are delighted that Kezia was picked to go to Canada and we hope she will have a very enjoyable time."
The St James' Guide will enjoy whale watching and white water rafting, as well as meeting with other delegates on the Canadian trip.
