THREE hardy walkers are planning to don their backpacks for the three peak challenge to raise funds for Blackburn's Broadlands School.
Tony Murdoch, bar manager at The Black Bull, Old Langho, will join forces with friends Ray and Ryan Price for the challenge.
They will climb Ben Nevis, Scar Fell and Snowdon in 24 hours in a bid to boost funds for the school which caters for children aged between three and five with special needs.
Three peaks charity co-ordinator Pam Hampson said: "These special little children climb mountains to make the smallest achievement every single day of their lives so we need as much help as possible to make each step they take that bit easier.
"Dedicated support staff at the school help the children experience so much of the world around them with visits to local parks, garden centres or relatives. But of course they are all costly.
"We would appeal for anyone to support our effort and all supporters will have their name or company logo on a Champions for Our Cause wall."
The Friends association was set up in June 1998 with the help of the Council for Voluntary Services. It aims to raise the awareness of the school within the community and to raise additional funds to improve resources and children's learning.
Donations should be made before June 10. There will also be a fun night on June 20 at The Black Bull pub. For details call 01254 248801 or the school on 01254 56044.
