A HOSPICE is looking for donations of stamps, coins and other collectables to raise valuable funds.
Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle is in great need of donations as it costs around £1.2million a year to run.
Only 20 per cent of this fee is covered by funding, leaving the hospice to raise £1million from fundraising events and donations.
Christina Cope, community fundraiser at the hospice, said: "We have been asking people to donate foreign currency especially since the introduction of the euro.
"We would like to remind people that any coins or notes will still hold some value and, totalled together, we still hope to raise important funds for Pendleside."
The man responsible for converting these coins into funds is Steve Harvey, a postmaster from Burnley.
Steve uses his computer skills to sell donations on the website e-bay, with all the proceeds going towards the hospice.
Christina added: "Steve volunteers a lot of his free time to help the hospice raise the most possible from the donated foreign coins, notes and other collectables and we are very grateful to him."
