WORSTHORNE beat bobby PC Glynn Grey is investigating claims from residents about a number of dogs in the area of Moor Edge Farm.
The residents have complained to police that they are too frightened to walk their dogs up Gorple Road because of the animals.
RESIDENTS enjoyed the chance to meet the leader of Burnley Council during the last meeting of Worsthorne Parish Council.
Councillor Stuart Caddy attended the event to discuss the community plan.
The plan, which had been developed by Burnley Action Partnership, is due to go out for consultation and represents a vision for how Burnley will be in 10 years time.
Coun Caddy told the meeting that the East Lancashire Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder had been renamed ELEVATE, and it would be through Elevate that many millions of pounds would be channelled from the Government to put value back into the housing market in the urban areas of the borough. Elevate has already received £2million and it hasjust been announced that an extra £4million will be available for East Lancashire from April 2003.
Coun Caddy also told residents that a new Highways Partnership is to be launched to provide a more efficient service. He said Michelin Technology Park was progressing well and Burnley Youth Theatre had received significant funding.
He said communication between the council and residents was being strengthened through roadshows which had already been held in three areas of the borough. Residents requested a roadshow be held in Worsthorne.
MEMBERS of Worsthorne Mothers' Union are hoping for a good attendance at the Deanery Festival on the April 30, at St Leonard's Church, Padiham.
A REQUEST has been submitted to Burnley and Padiham Community Housing to repaint the fence between the public toilets in Worsthorne and neighbouring bungalows.
