AN 18-year-old soldier from Blackburn has pleaded not guilty at Bristol Crown Court to a charge of attempted murder.
The private is accused of carrying out an attack with a pickaxe on Lance Corporal Konrad Bisping, 26, from Clitheroe.
He also pleaded not guilty to a second charge of wounding with intent. Mr Bisping suffered serious head wounds.
He was leading a platoon of soldiers during manoeuvres with the 1st Battalion the Queen's Lancashire Regiment on Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire.
The case was adjourned with no date set.
