MORE drink drivers than ever attended voluntary rehabilitation programmes in Lancashire last year, it has been revealed.
Some 1,685 motorists convicted by magistrates were referred to the TTC 2000's voluntary courses, up 15 on 2001.
Of those, 730 attended the course, compared to 697 in 2001 and 303 in 2000.
According to TTC 2000, people are two-and-a-half times less likely to re-offend after taking the £150 course.
In Blackburn, Accrington and the Ribble Valley, 281 people were referred to the course, with 315 being referred in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
TTC 2000 - Telford Training Consultants - is a not-for-profit company working on behalf of the courts and Department of Transport.
