PASSENGERS using the Hyndburn circular should see improvements from Sunday.
Bus company Lancashire United is making changes as a result of the successful growth of business on the route since it began operating in partnership with Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and Hyndburn Borough Council
Commercial director Duncan Allan said: "We took over the Hyndburn Circular two years ago. The partnership has proved highly successful for customer satisfaction and has increased the number of passengers in excess of the national average."
From Sunday the Hyndburn Circular will be enhanced and simplified to operate every ten minutes in each direction around the circle during Monday to Saturday daytimes. Routes 6 (clockwise) and 7 (anti-clockwise) will each operate every 20 minutes via Wordsworth Drive, Heys Lane and West End, while Routes 6A (clockwise) and 7A (anti-clockwise) will operate every 20 minutes via Harwood Bar and Stanhill. Services 60 and 70 will no longer operate. Evening and Sunday buses are renumbered to 6/6A and 7/7A and on Sunday mornings will commence operating an hour earlier.
The Huncoat area of Accrington has a change of bus service and bus operator. LU service 3 is withdrawn and replaced by an enhanced Mainline service 20, operated by LU's sister company, Burnley and Pendle Travel, which will run between Accrington, Huncoat, Altham Business Park, Shuttleworth Mead Industrial Estate, Padiham and Burnley.
