I WAS surprised that you gave the British National Party a platform over a social event such as my sixth annual borough quiz (LET, April 14).
The BNP councillor, who was invited by the council, but omitted from my list of reminders, no longer lives at his family address.
I understand he has retreated to a location near the Yorkshire border and that no-one is allowed to have its address.
Anyway, if the quiz runs again, all will be invited again to a social evening where all are welcome to share in an all-embracing, inclusive event, just like anything social should be.
COUN BILL TAYLOR, leader, Blackburn with Darwen Council.
Footnote: A version of this letter appeared on April 23, stating that the BNP councillor was not invited to the event. It has now been amended to make clear that an invitation was sent to him. -- Editor.
