BURNLEY FC's cash crisis following the collapse of ITV Digital is to be raised in Parliament.
MP Peter Pike is to take part in a major Westminster inquiry into football and its finances -- and his beloved Clarets are to give evidence.
As secretary of the new All-Party Parliamentary Football Group, Mr Pike will play a key role in an investigation which will focus on whether the current set-up is creating a rich elite of clubs and a poor under-class.
The loss of TV revenue left Burnley FC, and many other clubs, with a massive hole in their budget.
Burnley have already been in touch with Mr Pike and asked to submit evidence to the inquiry.
With financing of football looking ever more precarious it was agreed by the MPs that this issue should be the subject of their first inquiry. Other inquiries, into different aspects relating to football, will follow.
The MPs will consider submissions and hear presentations from interested parties.
Mr Pike said the inquiry would be crucial for football, with the chance to shape the future of the game.
