G-MEX employee Sam Wass is preparing to make an exhibition of himself, all in the name of charity.
The 26 year old exhibition sales executive from Prestwich is banking on running up a healthy sum for the Multiple Sclerosis Society when he takes to the city's streets in the first ever Great Manchester Run on May 26.
And that's not all! Once he's done that, Sam will be putting himself through it all again when he joins in the Great North Run in his native Tyneside later this year.
Sam said: "I haven't done anything like this since I was at school. I'm certainly no seasoned athlete but the chance to be able to raise money for this wonderful charity has given me the motivation and drive I need."
He adds: "I'm hoping to complete the Great Manchester Run in under one hour and the Great North Run in under two but we'll have to wait and see."
The Great Manchester Run which starts mid morning in Manchester City Centre on the May Bank Holiday will finish in grand style inside the G-MEX Centre where Sam's colleagues will be waiting to cheer him over the finish line!
Exhibition Sales Manager at Manchester's G-MEX, Paul Ashton said: "We'll all definitely be there supporting him."
Sam, who is originally South Tyneside, will experience an equally rousing reception when he returns there for the Great North Run on September 21
