THE EAST Bury Initiative has had its plan for the next year approved by the North West Development Agency.
The scheme, funded by the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB), prepares a Delivery Plan each year, and now their expertise and experience has been recognised at a regional level.
Sue Arnall, newly-elected chairman of the East Bury Initiative Steering Group, said: "How well we have done and how much more it is anticipated we can achieve is very much recognised by the North West Development Agency in approving our future plans ahead of the rest of the region.
"Our approach has always been one of working with the local people of East Bury and reacting to the needs of the community."
The East Bury Initiative SRB regeneration programme is about to enter its fifth year and has brought a massive range of improvements to the local community. So far £2.6 million has been spent on a range of projects.
