A POSTAL worker was held up at gunpoint by two men who demanded that he handed over sacks of mail.
A worker at the Royal Mail office in Chester Street, Clitheroe, was unloading his van around 4.20am yesterday when he was approached by two gunmen.
Both men threatened the postal worker and demanded he hand over the sacks of post which included some registered mail.
They then left the scene in a Ford Orion, which was found abandoned by police nearby.
Any further witnesses to the armed robbery, or anyone with information on those responsible should contact Clitheroe police on 01200 443344.
Two men were arrested on suspicion of robbery and were being questioned by police today.
