"WALK on, walk on, with hope in your heart. . . .", you can probably sing along to You'll Never Walk Alone, but did you know that the song is from the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical "Carousel"?
This is just one of the many wonderful songs, written by the duo, which will feature in Thornton Cleveleys Operatic Society's tribute to Richard Rodgers, The Rodgers & Hammerstein Concert at Fleetwood Marine Hall from Tuesday 20 to Saturday 24 May. The show features songs from some of the most successful musicals ever, "Oklahoma!", "Carousel", "The Sound of Music", "The King and I" and "South Pacific", and includes such classics as "Some Enchanted Evening", "I Whistle A Happy Tune", "My Favourite Things", "Surrey With A Fringe On Top", "There Is Nothing Like A Dame", "Climb Every Mountain" and "Oh, What A Beautiful Morning".
Performances are at 7.30 each evening and the proceeds from the raffle on the Friday night will be donated to The Autistic Society.
Tickets are priced between £5 and £6 and are available from Cleveleys Tourist Information Centre or the Marine Hall box office, telephone 01253 770547.
