AS someone without a car, the bus service has been a life-saver for me over the years.
Despite living in Summerseat, an area not blessed with the most prolific of bus services, an adequate number of buses has always been available.
Imagine my dismay then to hear of the imminent cancellation of the Summerseat 477 service at the end of May. Personally, this decision hits me at a particularly bad time, right at the start of my A-level examinations. More importantly though, is the inconvenience this will cause for the large number of elderly residents the 477 caters for. Are those people expected to walk to the town centre?
I understand that the First Bus company does not want to make a loss on this route, but surely a reduced service, working at peak times, wouldn't be too much to ask.
