NOW that the scheme to build a new school has seemingly fallen through, will Radcliffe High finally get some money spent on it to modernise it?
It is a great building and has some dedicated teachers, but they need help to make it one of the best schools around, as it could be. I hope so.
Maybe now the councillors can get back to doing what they promised they would do for Radcliffe, instead of giving us stupid sculptures and statues when what we need are a new market and new public toilets.
It would be nice to get the rest of the canal area cleared up too, areas like the other side of the bridge and under the trees. But we can't expect miracles.
With the growing number of children in this area, health and safety is vital and one school will not be enough in the future. So keep Radcliffe High and clean up our town.
