A VERY big thank-you to Trevor Jackson of Hollins Village. He's the brave chap who risked life and limb whilst planting daffodil bulbs in the hedgerow on Hollins Lane, Hollins Village, alongside Bury golf course.
The fruits of his labour are now clear for all to see as the bright yellow blooms "wave" to passing traffic.
Another thank-you must go to Martin Prescott and his volunteers from Hollins Conservation Group. They were busy planting wild flowers in the hedgerows recently. Watch out for the variety of colourful flowers that will appear later in the year.
A great deal of good work is on-going in Hollins Village at the moment. Things don't just happen; people make them happen.
If you're passing through Hollins Village, please enjoy and appreciate the efforts of others. Drive carefully and don't leave any litter -- someone else will have to pick it up!
If you live or work in Hollins, join Hollins Village Community Association, meet new friends and make a difference to your environment. Everybody will be made very welcome.
ANDREW TAYLOR, committee member,
Hollins Village Community Association.
