A BANK Holiday barbecue ended in a blazing row between Peter Lewis and his partner Gail Rayson, a court was told.
And Blackburn magistrates heard that as a result Lewis sacrificed not only his relationship but also his home.
Lewis, 34, now of the New Model Hostel, Police Street, Darwen, pleaded guilty to damaging a glass door panel. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £30 compensation and £55 costs.
Wendy Chappell, prosecuting, said that both Lewis and Miss Rayson had been drinking on Monday when they had a party for family and friends at their home.
"That evening an argument started and she told him she had had enough and wanted him to leave the house," said Mr Chappell.
"He started shouting and swearing and at that point her mother phoned the police. Shortly after he put his fist through a glass panel in the living room door."
Graham Tindall, defending, said: "It appears the relationship is over."
