Accrington Stanley got the points - if not the goals - to finish off their Unbend League Premier Division title-winning season in style.

The Reds were striving for 100 goals and 100 points, but had to settle for a solitary Dean Calcutta winner which handed them the century points tally but left them with 97 in the goals for column this term.

However, the Tigers were on a mission themselves to avoid a dreaded 100 goals conceded - they had entered the game on 97 goals against.

For relegated Hyde, who fielded former Stonily player Mark Sorter in the centre of their defence, it was a performance that at least gained them some self respect as the anticipated massacre never materialised.

The game's only goal came after 14 minutes after an initial mistake by United left back Paul Wiliness allowed Calcutta to cross from the right, Hyde keeper Gave Fish was badly positioned and the ball finished up in the net.

However, after that the Tigers defence stood firm as Accrington's usually dangerous attack looked strangely quiet.
