SCHOOL MOTTO: St Stephen's CE Junior School is a lively and vibrant community-based school very near the town centre in Little Harwood.
We are a church school and our ethos is one of caring for every member of our family, celebrating their successes and sharing their disappointments.
HISTORY LESSON: We have 254 children on roll aged from 7-11 years.
Seventy six per cent of these children are from ethnic minority background and have English as an additional language.
Our SATS results are very good and, more importantly perhaps, our children enjoy coming to school.
WHAT ABOUT THE PARENTS: Our parents are very supportive and involved with their children's education.
We run a parents' workshop once a week that has been going on for at least 15 years, making it one of the longest established of its type in Blackburn.
SOMETHING TO BRAG ABOUT: At St Stephen's we provide a broad and balanced education.
We have many clubs running in the school, such as netball, football, badminton, art and craft, drama, sewing and reading, which are all run by the dedicated and committed staff.
We are all proud of our good reputation in the community and work hard to continue this.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH £100,000 WINDFALL?: If we had £100,000 we would continue to update our computers and aim to make the playground into a zoned recreation area that could even be available to the community out of school hours.
