BUS passengers are to benefit from further improvements to two bus routes after Lancashire County Council chiefs announced an increase in passenger numbers.
Bus operator Burnley & Pendle Travel has teamed up with Lancashire County Council speed up journeys between Padiham and Burnley by several minutes.
Improvements, including new bus lanes and traffic light priority measures put in by the council are in direct response to an increase in passenger numbers.
New bus shelters, improved timetable information and raised kerbs have also been installed between Padiham and Colne to make the route one of the most up-to-date in the county. A Lancashire County Council spokesman said: "The County Council investments in recent years to bring public transport services up to a high standard are clearly paying off. Operators like Burnley & Pendle Travel have put their money where their mouth is by introducing new buses and improving reliability."
