TAKE a journey with the Aeroplane Man and follow his search for a place he can call home with this decibel packed show.
The play landed at the Library Theatre in a riot of music, dance and poetry as performance artist Jonzi D took us on a trip around the world.
His journey takes in the sexually charged dancers of Jamaica, the violence fuelled rappers of New York and the rhythmic moves of South Africa.
The language is sometimes coarse, sometimes difficult to understand, but the audience feels this discomfort in the same way as Jonzi D, creating a barrier to lands he thought could be home.
Again the Library Theatre excels at bringing an audience close to a performance that needs to make a connection to ensure its impact is felt.
The musicians remain on stage throughout the show and provide a booming sound track that draws influences from around the world.
And this is reflected in some incredible choreography that had the audience applauding and clapping along at every chance.
We soon see that the Aeroplane Man can't find a place to call home in modern day black culture.
But his search is not just some politically correct rant, everyone needs to find a place that is their own, it's the looking that's hard.
Aeroplane Man, Library Theatre, Manchester. Until Thursday. Tel: 0161 234 1920.
