FED UP residents are meeting council officials today to try to find a solution to juvenile nuisance in their neighbourhood.
Householders in the Trinity Street area of Oswaldtwistle say they have to contend with hordes of youngsters intimidating them every night.
Now they are to tell the council what they think should be done to stop the problem.
Dave Baxter, of Trinity Street, Oswaldtwistle, complained earlier this month about children playing football on land next to his house.
Now the 61-year-old, who suffers from osteo arthritis, says things have got worse, and has installed a security camera at his home.
"I have been pushing the council to do something about somewhere for the kids to play on the estate," he said.
"A lot of elderly people are being intimidated. A lot of us own our own property, but it's council land the kids are playing on. We can have up to 20 or 30 some nights. Some of them are only eight to 14 but every other word is swearing. They keep smashing my fence panels. We want this land properly fenced off."
Neighbour Elizabeth Pearson, 74, of Lime Street, said: "I had them here the other night running through my garden. They said they were playing a game. It's not just occasionally. They are getting worse. I'm fed up. I have been here more than 30 years and I just feel I want to move. Everybody's fed up."
Another resident, 74-year-old Harry Slinger, said: "It's getting out of hand. They are even looking through our windows. They keep climbing over the railings into my garden. They say it's council land and they they will play on it if they like.
"They said they would break my windows. I have a bad heart and have to carry a card. It's got that way I feel like moving and I have lived around here for more than 40 years."
The meeting has been arranged in Rowan Avenue, Oswaldtwistle.
