VISITORS to Gawthorpe Hall in Padiham were taken on a journey back in time during a Bringing History Alive event.
Role-players took the parts of a butler, cook and Lady Blanche Shuttleworth and re-enacted a scene from the 1890s, dressed in period costume.
Lady Shuttleworth was organising a dinner party, the butler laid the table and the cook told the onlookers what kind of food would have been eaten.
Similar events are held at Gawthorpe once a month, usually on the last Sunday.
