BLACKBURN People's Choir has been granted lottery funding to hold a weekend of singing workshops.
The £4,000 cash boost, from the Awards for All lottery programme, will be put towards a two-day workshop for around 60 people, which includes tuition from four professional tutors.
It will be held at Darwen Library Theatre and will include an evening showcase of local and regional community choirs.
Ann Parker, the choir's secretary and a founder member, said: "The Blackburn People's Choir is different from most as we welcome anyone who would like to sing but who may feel that they aren't good enough to join a more formal choir -- there are no auditions to join, just a genuine shared desire to sing."
Anyone interested in attending the workshop should contact either Darwen Library Theatre or Ann Parker on 01254 260468.
