EVERYTHING that Eddie Duxbury reported about the Ashworth Street estate in Blackburn (Letters, April 25) is exactly the same as Douglas Place, Roe Lee.
My neighbour and I have had serious problems with drug abusers, loud music, theft, drunks etc in the early hours of the morning.
Gwyneth Sarkar, director of housing of Twin Valley Homes, is more than aware of the problem as we have been fighting for 12 months for railings to be erected to stop a 'rat run' and damage to our property on this estate.
My neighbour has specified he will pay for the railings out of his own pocket to keep us safe, but to no avail. Yet, lo and behold, other estates which were 'open plan' get railings.
The police have been informed on many occasions, so too have TVH, yet they are blind to the issue.
To evict a tenant for an untidy garden and let thugs, trouble-makers, drug dealing and theft still go on is an insult to law-abiding citizens.
Mrs Sarkar wants to walk around Douglas Place and see for herself the state of the estate, which has been in gradual decline for the last three years.
It is about time TVH protected their good tenants.
Name and address received.
