COACHES working with the borough's many sports clubs are invited to sign up for a series of courses.
Bury Sports Development Unit has co-ordinated the programme to give groups a better understanding of disability, equity and child protection issues. The courses are:
May 30, at Bury Town Hall, 6pm to 9pm: Good Practice and Child Protection. Cost £25.
Monday, June 30, at Bury Town Hall from 7pm to 9pm: Working with Disabled Sports People. Cost £25.
Friday, August 29, at Bury Town Hall, 7pm to 9pm: Equity in your coaching. Cost £25.
Tuesday and Wednesday, May 20 and 21, at Bury Town Hall from 6pm to 9pm: Emergency First Aid (appointed persons). Cost £25.
Sunday, June 8, at Bury Rugby Club from 10am to 3pm: Tag Rugby Introduction Course. Cost £5.
Saturday and Sunday, July 19, 20, 26 and 27 at Philips Leisure Centre, 9.30am to 5.30pm: Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football.
Thursday, August 28 (6.30pm to 9.30pm) at Castlebrook High School and Saturday and Sunday, August 30 and 31, (9.30am to 5.30pm) at Goshen Playing Fields: Hockey Level 1 Course (three-day course). Cost £80.
Thursday, June 19, at St Gabriel's HS from 9.30am to 3pm: INSET Cricket Course for Teachers.
