POLICE are calling for a better public response to a Darwen police surgery on Saturday morning.
Members of the public are invited to the meeting, from 10am to midday at the Sudellside Community Centre.
PC Geoff Unsworth said: "We've had six of the surgeries so far and they haven't been very popular. We are hoping that more people will show up on Saturday because it's just a question of people knowing that we're here.
"It's an ideal situation for people in the community to come along and talk to us about any problems they might be facing. We want as many people as possible to attend the surgery."
Sue Freear, community centre event organiser, said: "We will also be holding a Saturday Club for the children from 10am to midday.
"The club is for children aged between five and eight and it will feature arts, crafts and games.
"We are hoping this will attract more people to the police surgery."
