CHORLEY Harrier Katie Ingram won individual bronze and team gold medals as England's under 20 women finished 1-2-3-4 in fell running's Home International at the P and O Knockdhu Classic in Ireland.
This year the under-20s raced over a 4km course instead of the full 4.7 miles run by the seniors, and it suited Ingram much better than last year as she has not yet left the under 18 ranks and is more used to the shorter distances.
The result gave Ingram a needed fillip after the disappointment of just failing to reach the televised stages of the BBC's Born to Win, a nationwide search for sports talent.
Having qualified the last 32 from an initial entry of 2000, she was eliminated at the last stage in tests at Loughborough College.
Now she has set her sights on returning to there next year as an undergraduate to study Sport and English.
