JEAN Rawlinson and Wendy Dodds finished first and second over 50 women in the second English Fell Championship Race of the season recently.
Competing in the 11.25 mile Anniversary Waltz at Newlands near Keswick, Rawlinson, pictured left, finished in 2:14:54 with Wendy hard on her heels in 2:16:06.
With over 40 veteran Katy Thompson home in 2:20:54, Clayton Ladies were the winning veteran team - not bad considering their combined age of 152!
With a second and a third place to her credit, defending over 50 Champion Dodds is joint leader in this year's standings with Horwich Harrier Sheila Norris.
Clayton's over 40 men extended the lead in their Championship as they won again.
As in the Lad's Leap Shaun Livesey was their first counter taking 18th in 1:37:40 from John Tomlinson 24th.
Ian Greenwood who missed the opening round when he was on honeymoon finished 39th with Mark Aspinall 49th. Pete McWade was third M50 as John Nuttall won the M60 division.
