ANDY COLE'S stunning strike against Liverpool at Anfield has been voted the winner of the Peter White Memorial Trophy.
The prestigious trophy, named in honour of the respected Lancashire Evening Telegraph sports journalist Peter White, is for Blackburn's goal of the season.
Cole's 30-yard volley just edged out David Thompson's effort against CSKA Sofia, and Damien Duff's goal against Newcastle.
Readers of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph and Rovertime - Blackburn's matchday programme - voted.
Cole will receive his award before tomorrow's game from Val White, Peter's widow, and Paul Plunkett, Sports Editor of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
