ACCRINGTON'S South African professional Andre Seymour sees their clash with Lowerhouse as a chance for the side to extend a winning run.
Lowerhouse are yet to win in the Lancashire League, while Accrington go into the game on the back of an impressive victory against Burnley.
"The game against Lowerhouse will be good," said Seymore. "Both teams haven't had the best of starts and so both of us will be looking to prove a point. It will make for an interesting contest tomorrow."
Seymore top scored with 121 not out as Accrington smashed past the 192 set by Burnley.
"My innings on Sunday against Burnley was especially pleasing after the poor result against Colne the day before," he explained.
"It's pleasing because being the overseas player it normally takes a while to settle in and get your eye in, but this season I have settled well and feel that I am fitter and quicker than this time last year. "
His Thorneyholme Road performance was a far cry from the previous day, when Accrington crashed to defeat at the hands of Colne, with Seymore failing to score.
"I got quickly into the Burnley game and I feel this was one of the main reasons why I scored the amount of runs I did," he said.
"You have to get stuck in early in the season, especially when we haven't got the strongest team in the league."
Accrington finished last season at the foot of the Lancashire League, while Lowerhouse finished only one place above them. Seymore is realistic about the season ahead for himself and for the Thorneyholme Road side.
"We haven't made many changes at the club since last year, but I feel that the younger players are now more experienced and hopefully they will play well and help the team overall," he said.
"Plus we still have a lot of the more experienced players at the club, like the captain Damian (Clarke), who got six wickets on Sunday.
"I think that a mid-table finish would be a great foundation on which to build on next season. We all have our goals and hopefully we can get near to them or even beat them.
"I think the important players for us this season will be Damian and Adam Greenwood, who are both good players."
Last season Andre enjoyed a good spell at the club, scoring over a thousand runs.
"I played well with the bat last year and I will be happy if I can do the same if not better. Over the winter I have been working wicket-wise so I look forward to putting that into practice."
It is Seymore's second season at Thorneyholme Road and he is looking forward to building on the work he did last year.
"It's nice to be back in Accrington, and I want to do better now that I am in my second year with the club," he revealed.
"I look forward to the coming season."
