DARWEN firefighters are holding a special talk for children at the Sure Start nursery on Tuesday.
Three and four-year-olds at the Lord Street centre will have the opportunity to sit in a fire engine and learn what firefighters do.
Sub-officer Steve Ryan said: "At this age it's not really about getting a message of fire safety and awareness across. We explain a little bit of what we do and then give them pictures to colour in."
The event is at the centre at 11am.
Sub-officer Ryan said: "The kids do a project each year where they meet people who do different jobs in the community.
"It's good to go in and see children at a young age and of course they can get a good idea of what we do."
Firefighters will be holding a series of fire-safety talks at schools in the coming months.
