THE Mayor of Rossendale is urging people in the valley to take part in his end-of-term charity triathlon next week.
Musbury Fabrics, Holcombe Road, Helmshore, have sponsored the event by providing t-shirts for all participants.
The triathlon will be held at Marl Pits, Rawtenstall on Sunday, May 11, from 9.30am with people of all disciplines invited to take part.
The event will start at 9.30am with a four-mile run from Marl Pits through Rawtenstall centre to Turnpike and back to Marl Pits.
The cycle will take place at 10.45am being around 13.5 miles, with the 35-length swimming event starting at Marl Pits from noon.
Competitors can take part in all of the sports, or any one or two of the events and can take part either individually or as part of a team.
Local schools will be taking part including Fearns, Alder Grange and All Saints. The Air Training Corps at Rawtenstall will also be entering teams.
Coun Eaton said: "It will be a great day. We have already drummed-up a lot of interest and would love as many people as possible to take part."
Entry forms are available from Rawtenstall Town Hall, Marl Pits and Jimmy himself on 01706 878153.
The entry fee is £5 per person or £12 for a team of three.
