A DISTURBED teenager threatened a man with a knife on the same day of her release from custody for a similar offence.
Jeanette Hook, aged 19, of Peak Avenue, Atherton armed herself with a large kitchen knife and threatened to kill an asylum seeker.
She claimed she had been sexually assaulted by the man and had returned several times to his house with a knife. She threatened to kill her alleged attacker Festin Marku and his friend Ali Bajami and was arrested near their home in Atherton after she refused to drop a large knife and had to be subdued with CS gas.
Offensive weapon
Hook, had admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray and possession of an offensive weapon.
Bolton Crown Court was told that Ali Bajam opened his door to find Hook standing there holding a knife. The men attempted to take the knife off Hook but she slashed at Marku causing a superficial laceration to his hand.
The court heard that Hook had a considerable number of convictions including several for possessing offensive weapons and blades in public. The court was told Hook alleged Marku had committed a serious sexual assault on Hook and her friend when they were 15-years-old.
Hook was said to be suffering from a major depressive disorder, had problems with drink and drugs and there were indications of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as well.
She was sentenced to 15 months in youth custody and advised to take the psychiatric help offered to her while in custody.
