HOSPITALS in East Lancashire have fared well in a snap inspection looking at conditions for patients.
Inspectors from PEAT, Patient Environment Assessment Team, dropped in at Burnley General and Blackburn Royal Infirmary to assess several factors crucial to a patient's experience.
They looked at cleanliness, quality of food and arrangements in mixed sex wards including privacy.
BRI scored top marks for clean wards and good food and was rated satisfactory on its mixed sex accommodation.
Burnley General was given the highest rating for food while cleanliness and mixed sex accommodation were rated satisfactory.
