READING the article (April 11) regarding Fishpool Infants and St Chad's schools being re-named St Luke's, I think the idea is ridiculous.
I notice that the Rev. Dr Frances Ward of St Peter's parish agrees with the change but sher hasn't been in the parish for more than two minutes so how is that she has an opinion on something so historically fundamental to the people of this area?
I am proud to have been educated at both schools and found them to be excellent. St Chad's School is a land-mark for Fishpool residents so why change the name. Imagine the uproar if it was decided to change the traditional names of Eton, Oxford, or Cambridge.
