THE first in a series of monthly workshops are set to take place in Brierfield to help community groups claim funding.
Representatives attending the first event will be able to influence how workshops are organised in the future.
Groups attending the workshop will get an insight into the various types of funding that is available to voluntary and community groups in Pendle, particularly the National Community Chests, Pendle Partnership's Community Chest, and the European Capacity Building grants.
Ian Plested will talk about the capacity building grants available though Pendle's Community Economic Development Programme, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
Richard Nelson from Pendle Community Network will explain how groups can claim money from the National Community Chest programme and Community Learning Chest programmes. He will also be able to offer general advice to community groups who attend.
Jamil Mohammed, Pendle's community and voluntary sector co-ordinator will provide information about Pendle Partnership's Community Chest programme.
All community and voluntary groups are being invited to attend the funding workshop on Tuesday, May 6 at Brierfield Town Hall from 11am to 1.30pm.
Anybody wishing to attend should contact Asfan Khan on 01282 661705.
