A MAN jailed for two months after being convicted of unlawful sexual intercourse will not be banned from working with children.
Simon Smith made a second appearance at Burnley Crown Court on the day he was released from prison.
Judge Raymond Bennett had called him back to tell him a disqualification order he had previously made on the defendant did not now stand.
Smith, of Whalley Road, Accrington, had earlier been convicted of having sex with a schoolgirl,after a trial.
Burnley Crown Court heard the victim used to visit the home of the defendant's friend who was a youth leader at a church.
The girl remained affectionate towards him and had been reluctant to give evidence against him.
The girl, said to have missed school and to have got into trouble for smoking cannabis, had daydreamed of the defendant and had wished he was her boyfriend.
