EVERTON boss David Moyes today insisted his players won't give up their European dreams without a fight.

The Merseysiders are currently locked in a two-way battle with Blackburn Rovers for a place in next season's UEFA Cup.

And, although they saw their advantage cut to just two points at the weekend, Moyes is adamant his squad are determined to pip Rovers to the post.

Everton must beat Manchester United at Goodison Park on Sunday or hope that Rovers fail to win at Tottenham in order to secure sixth spot.

And Moyes has pleaded with his men to keep their push for Europe rolling for another six days, saying: "We have come this far and are very close so we would like to hang on in there if we can.

"Do we belong in Europe? We do in the long term but are we ready yet? Next Sunday will tell because we'll end up where we deserve to end up.

"We've been in the top six since September and you finish where you deserve to be.

"We've done okay this season and have tried to cover up our weaknesses as much as we can.

"It's been a big jump for us from this time last year and I'm not going to set myself up by saying we're favourites to get into the UEFA Cup or not.

"We've got a hard game next Sunday and I'll get the boys' heads down this week and get them ready for the match."

United will head to Goodison on Sunday safe in the knowledge that the Premier League title is already in the bag.

But a dispute over whether or not they can parade the trophyis likely to stoke them into putting on a performance against the Blues.
