RESIDENTS of a private nursing home which closed down suddenly on Saturday have been transferred to county council homes earmarked for closure.
Harwood House Nursing Home, Belmont Street, Great Harwood, was closed with just a few hours' notice.
Owner Pamela Jackson said representatives from the National Care Standards Commission gave her no warning about the closure.
The 17 residents in the home, which opened 13 years ago, were moved to nearby Northlands, and Woodlands in Clayton-le-Moors, she said.
Both those homes are earmarked for closure by the county council.
